U.S. NAVY VETERAN – BIG JAY “THE BARBER” MCNAB

Big Jay the Barber was born and raised in the dangerous gang corrupted streets of South-Central L.A.  He witnessed his baby brother die from a hit and run and had to walk down that same street daily as he walked to school. He started running with a known gang when his mother decided to move to Tampa  Florida in the mid to late 90s.  He graduated from Gaither High School in Carrollwood after playing multiple sports including Football, Basketball, and Track. After High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army.  After serving for a short period, he decided to join the U.S. Navy.  He has served in 2 wars and is now discharged honorably. He is a well-known Tampa Barbershop owner that serves the community of Tampa for over 15 years.

He is a renowned barber for many of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, WWE Superstars, and many Tampa residents.  He has built many great friendships throughout the years and is an avid supporter of the Military Fresh Network.

Big Jay’s goal is to be the go-to barbershop for all local Tampanians and those visiting.  He is a very humble person that represents the city of Tampa and his mindset is always “how can I make it better”.  When Tampa TSA agents were not paid due to the government shutdown, he provided free haircuts to TSA agents, which is where he once worked after his military service.  He is a prior football coach for Pop Warner little league football and has raised his firstborn son as a single father.  He has mentored many new barbers and has assisted them to gain knowledge and the skills to succeed in the barber industry.

Last year, Big Jay faced the scare of his life when he contracted COVID-19 and had to be put on a ventilator.  He spent ten days in the hospital not knowing if he was going to make it out. This opened his eyes and forced him to want more, not only for himself but for his family.  He opened  Razorz Edge Barbershop, catering to veterans and first responders, but has swiftly become the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and WWE Superstar barber of choice in Tampa.  Razorz Edge Barbershop provides discounted services for all veterans and first responders.
